Video Wins A Pulitzer Prize

Ian Fisher, American Soldier Yesterday, the Denver Post won a Pulitzer Prize for American Soldier, its two-year project of folloing Ian Fisher, an American soldier from home, through bootcamp and through his term of service. The project is a stunning example of what newspapers can do when they focus the depth of their talent on a single subject.  What makes American Soldier of particular interest to us is that the project is presented as a series of 8 videos, by VJ Craig Walker. Edwin S. Shneidman, professor emeritus of thanatology, the study of the phenomena of death, died May 15 at his home in West Los Angeles. He was 91. BBC News Chief Explains What She Is Looking For

In this Beet-TV report, Mary Hockaday explains what kind of Video Journalsm The BBC is looking for. Personally, I don't agree with a lot of what she is saying, but she is signing the checks for The BBC, not I. So listen up!
