Snore.... Last week I was pawing through some old photographs my dad had taken in 1967 during a family trip to Europe. In those days, he shot on 35mm Kodachrome slides, so between the cost of the film, the cost of the processing and the fact that my old man could squeeze Lincoln off a penny, there were not that many slides to look at. The vast majority of them were of buildings or monuments. I am sure when my dad first laid eyes on the Eiffel Tower or The Vatican, he was compelled to stand and

This video was done by students at Shorewood High School in Washington State.  Take a look at this. It's pretty remarkable. It was shot backward from beginning to end.. and it is done without a single edit. Think of the choreography alone - not to mention doing it backwards. Unbelievable!

Why Local TV News is Dead

Posted on December 20th, 2009 Written on michael's blog

For several years now I have been posting on www.b-roll.net It's a site for professional cameramen. Most of them don't particularly like me, but I have a lot of respect for many of them. The work hard, but their industry is changing and fast. It's not a pretty picture for them. This morning, however, there was a post from a regular there under the name NYC Street. He's a beat reporter for WABC, the local news affiliate in NY. He's responding to a thread called Video-Rosenblum Says Local TV Dead
