Blip.tv does content deals with YouTube, NBC and others

Do you like this?

As part of this deal, Blip.tv will be able to place ads on thier users videos on Youtube.   The question I have is this - are they planning on sharing that revenue back with the creators of the content?    If so, we're starting to see the accelerating emergence of a money-making model for video creators who know what they're doing.

I agree with you 100%. no company wants to send around 10 million $0.24 checks a month. there has to be a reasonable threshold, beyond which you start to share in the revenue. I think that this is an inevitability. It will happen. The question is just when.

Revenue sharing is a great idea, but it seems like there should be some criteria before that revenue is shared. YouTube's model seems to be over 100k views you get an invite to revenue share. I'm up to 118k views, completed the revenue share process YT has in place, but have seen any ads up yet. I can't imagine making much from this and sharing revenue across so many different content creators seems like it could be cumbersome.
