Bill Maher and Sarah Silverman Show The Power of Green Screen in 12-Mile

Posted on March 1st, 2011 Written on michael's blog

Do you like this?

It's a web talk show - 3 minutes long.

Bill Maher's first guest is Sarah Silverman on his new webcast talk show,12 Mile.

They're not really on a boat (really!), but it's called 12-mile because they're in theory outside the 12 mile limit, which means that what they do before the show starts is totally legal

Anyway, nice use of green screen!

Well, okay, "nice use" in that green screen here provides relief from boring studio surroundings. Does Maher himself do video-recording and -production things, do you know? Which is really to wonder: how much is his creativity energized by what is really possible, visually, today? Thinking about tipping the camera occasionally, maybe have somebody splash a pail of water across the deck (across the host/guest?) ...Agreed the perception may be that such would distract from the intellectual subtlety of the Maher-Silverman shtick, might even come across as a confusing, slapstick presentation. It's my opinion, though, that viewers are getting sophisticated enough to sort all that out.
