Rhodri Davies, a videojournalist with Al Jazeera submitted a video on Mexico City's water crisis yesterday.

I was delighted to see a story from an Al Jaz VJ.

Every year, we give a $15,000 prize to the best VJ news story worldwide.

Last year's runner up (there's a prize for that also) went to Casey Kauffman, a VJ with Al Jazeera.

He went to Gaza and shot, reported, edited and produced the story above.

Al Jazeera is one of many major global news organizations that are rapidly embracing the VJ model - and when you look at Casey's video, you can see why,

A powerful report indeed, important and very very sad story so thanks for that. Although for me the last few shots of the boy lying on the bed are a bit too much, i have some problems with it as the tragedy of this story is very clear and the reporter could also have chosen to end with focusing on the parents despair?
