Francisco Aliwalas, a trainer here at NYVS.com has just returned from Africa where he shot a commercial video for a Safari company.
Take a look at this.
He did this on his own, in his own words, "I used the 5D, a Glidetrack, and mostly hand the camera perched on a bean bag. The aerials where handheld in a hot air balloon. I cut it on FCP and color graded in Magic Looks Suite. I shot in the bush for only 6 days but we were in the middle of the great migration. About 1.5 million game."
Fran also says that the clients 'were in tears' when they saw the footage.
We can understand why.
If National Geographic set out to do something like this, you can imagine the teams, the vans, the boxes of gear and the cost.
Not any more.
Of course, you also need talent.
Great job, Fran!
