Guardian Media Academy in London - Day 2

Posted on November 16th, 2011 Written on michael's blog

Do you like this?

At The Guardian....

Today is Day 2 at The Guardian Media Academy in London.

In partnership with The Guardian, (which I think is the best newspaper in the world), we are running our video bootcamp.

For NYVS members, they'll recognize the lectures, from 'cut the carrots' to 'Fluffy the dog'.
The only difference here is that a) we are in London and b) every afternoon we run our 'public praise / public humiliation' screening sessions for all the material that people have shot.

Today we are doing the edit lecture and by 3pm today we will air the first cut pieces.

Our group is an interesting combination, including the publisher and editor of one of the biggest newspapers in Canada, four people from a major global PR and Brand company, some reps from local cities in the UK, a few from The BBC and more.  It's an indication of where the whole video business is headed.

We'll keep you posted as we progress.

And hopefully next time, you may be able to join us here.

Course deposit paid, airline reservation, San Diego non-stop to London Heathrow, booked, hotel for six nights, Premier Inn, King's Cross, all set. I guess I will see you in London. I think the tube will get me from Heathrow direct to King's Cross. I'm getting in a day early, I will find my way......
