How To Make A Living Shooting Travel Videos

Posted on July 13th, 2011 Written on michael's blog

Do you like this?

Hey, I'm gonna be on TV!

One of the all-time dream jobs is to create travel videos.

Just grab your camera, a backpack and head off to see the world, and get paid for it.

The travel industry is huge!

Here in the UK (where we are this week), it's an £85 billion business. And that's just the UK

Globally, it's in the hundreds of billions and growing all the time.

As the travel industry heads to the web and to iPads and phones its going to need a lot of video

A lot

And where is it going to come from?

This is Africa Dreams, a safari company that takes people to game parks across Africa.

The website used to be pretty boring.

But not anymore

Now it is dominated by a video.

That video was shot, produced, written and edited by Francisco Aliwalas, who works for us.

You've seen his instructional videos on NYVS.

Francisco and his wife travel the world making travel videos, among other things.

All he needs is his camera and his laptop.

Check out Francisco's video here.

I'm guessing he was probably in one of those hot air balloons. If so, that's pretty clever.

Such a beautiful video. All done just by holding the camera still and simple cuts. I guess less really is more.
