Do you like this?

A man, his dog and a video camera

Here is a fantastic example of the burgeoning and relatively new medium of 'online documentary'.

This one was done by Eliot Rausch, and it won first place and a $25,000 award at the first Vimeo Online Video Awards.

Eliot began working in video running the tape library at ad giant Ogilvy, but soon graduated to making his own work.

After spending 6 years as a freelancer, Eliot has teamed up with friend Lukas Korver to found Phos Pictures, and independent video production company.

He's got a fantastic eye - and as he shoots, edits and directs all his own stuff, he's a great role model for anyone just starting out on their own.

UK videojournalist Adam Westbrook has an excellent interview with Korver on his website Studio.fu

We like this short film a lot.
