Hollywood spends millions to get this effect - now you can do it for free
Graeme Taylor of Straylight, a UK based production company has posted a nifty guide and demo of his glidecam technique.
You're seen this effect a dozen times in Hollywood feature films.
There, it involves about a hundred people and a day of planning to get the shot right.
Taylor has worked out a way to do this with a handy-cam and hand held.
Trey Ratcliff gives a similar demonstration with his very cool video Stuck in Customs and a very complete explanation of how he carries off this very powerful effect.
Here's a talk by Trey Ratcliff at Google.
He's got a really interest approach to photography called HDR, which creates an image that is much closer to what the human eye sees than what conventional cameras can record.
