The World Moves To Video...even faster...

Do you like this?

ft

now.. in video

Paid Content is reporting this morning that The Financial Times, the most staid and dependable of the world's business newspapers, has made what it is calling a 'major investment' in a video studio in London.

This is big news.

I like the FT, particularly on the weekends.

It's a great newspaper, and one that is not in financial trouble, unlike so many others.

I met with the management of the FT many years ago, and at that time they indicated that they had no interest in getting into video.

How times change.

Concurrent with the FT story this morning was another totally unrelated but soon to be very related story.

Youtube is going to start live streaming of video content.

You can read about it here.

They're only testing the concept with four partners, including Rocketboom, which has always been on the cutting edge of video online and this seems to be no exception.

I checked into Rocketbooms live stream this morning and it's impressive.

it's impressive because I am having a discussion at home about going off the Time/Warner $200 a month cable bill.

And here, in front of me, is the answer.

It isn't quite here yet, but you can see what is coming.

Institutions that create great content like the FT are moving into video and Youtube is creating a way to live stream into your house for free.

The uses and demand for video are only just getting started.

The future is very bright.. and moving.
