ideo as art

Do you like this?

I've just begun my usual indepth research on this topic.  Wow, how ignorant I am.   Video Art has a HIS/HERSTORY.  many different approaches.  i am intrigued by still image animation.  i am housebound for medical reasons so i cannot go out ansdd shoot the video i'd like, so still image work will serve me swell.  bit apparently is still best done with a video camera rather than a still camera, so i'm witing on my new camera to come along with a book ortwo.   in the meantime i'm painting images for an animation.  tedious, but satisfying.  by the way, i found a software package which has really impressed me as for 50 dollars you get a  quality video editor, cvd software, audio and video converters.  its called avs4you and no i did't get paid for the recommendation.  it's much better  than wmm.

michael, thanik you so mu7ch for the suggestions. i am familiar with the family of man project, but i;ll have to look up the magnum. i am so excited by the prospects of being able to participate in the world even though i'm confined to home. i'm playing around with old photos as well. i am also excited by this community and the work i'm seeing. everyone has talent, we all just need azn opportgunity to develop it.

I think this is a field with enormous untapped potential. Since you are interested in stills, take a minute or two to read about the Family of Man project in the 1950s, when still photography crossed the barrier between technical exercise and fine art. Edward Steichen shepherded that one. Take a look at Magnum photos, which extended the concept. Now think of ways in which you could do the same with video. You might even start by manipulating the Magnum images and applying motion graphics and music.
