Now that you know the basic functions of a Video Camera, let's move into the pro stuff. In this course, you will learn about: exposure, iris, shutter speed, neutral density filters, gain, white balance, and manual focus.
"Wow, what a difference once you learn how to control all of the manual aspects of your camera." - Bill, San Antonio, TX
I'm an independent documentary filmmaker, shooter and editor. I've produced international documentaries that have won awards in film festivals and have been broadcast in six countries. When I'm not working on social issue documentaries, I love to watch cheesy horror films.

| Intermediate Camera Overview | Comments (0) | 1:03 | |
This course will be expanding on the basics of your camera and will dive into some of the useful features and manual controls that your camera has to offer.

| Exposure | Comments (0) | 2:12 | |
The key to correct exposure is allowing the correct amount of light in so the darks are not too dark to see and the bright areas aren't too bright.
| Iris Aperture | Comments (0) | 2:38 | |
Just like the iris in your own eye, it will open and close to let in different amounts of light.
| Shutter Speed | Comments (0) | 3:08 | |
The shutter speed is how long the hole stays open for each frame of video. The longer the hole stays open, the more light will come through and the brighter the exposure will be.
| Neutral Density Filter | Comments (0) | 1:45 | |
Neutral density filters allow you to reduce the amount of light entering your camera without changing any of your camera settings.
| Gain | Comments (0) | 2:42 | |
The gain is how sensitive the sensor is to the light. The more gain, the brighter the image will be, without having to change the shutter speed or aperture.
| Manual White Balance | Comments (0) | 2:32 | |
Camcorders do not see light like we do. Shooting in different places gives you different kinds of colors.
| Manual Focus | Comments (3) | 2:43 | |
Focus is most likely the control on your camera that you will switch to manual the most often.
