Hi therawchef, First, click to select the clip who's settings you want to copy, then press Command + C on your keyboard. Next, click on the clip or clips that you want to paste the effect into. Then press Option + Command + V. This will bring up the Attributes window that has all effects that were added to the first clip. Check the boxes for the attributes that you want to paste.

Is there a way within Final Cut X that you can copy an effect with all it's settings, over to another clip on the timeline? The only way I can see to do it would be to save it as a preset, but that would mean saving a new preset for every video potentially. In older version of Final Cut it was possible to copy the filters and effects on to eery clip in the timeline. Thanks.
