Hi Greg, all of these lessons are for iMovie '9, not '8. We are currently working on an iMovie '11 course, so stay tuned! But thanks for your feedback. We'll make it clear that these lessons apply to iMovie '9 to avoid confusion. Best, Kelly (NYVS Staff)

Again, Ronnie is referencing iMovie '11. There are no themes or automatic transitions in iMovie '08. I would also like to reiterate what Ronnie said at the end about the temptation to add fun transitions between clips. Professional videos will use just a straight cut from one clip to the next 90% of the time. Funky transitions are very distracting and should only be used to signify a lapse of time (perhaps) or like NYVS does in these videos to avoid jump cuts.
