After shooting my footage with a shotgun mic, I've discovered that the settings on the mic were off and the audi is actually much, much softer than it should be. I've raised the audio levels in FCP to 12db, but still the audio is soft. Is there anyway I can "override" the system (either within FCP or with an online program) to increse the audio levels? Thanks in advance!
Hi Gabe, Glad you found the Gain tab. Just be aware that if you use too much gain, it can add audio distortion, whereas doubling (tripling etc..) tracks won't. :)
Hey Kelly, I just discovered the "Gain" Tab in the audio effects. Overrides the "12db" limit and I can almost blow out my eardrums. Much easier than copying the audio tracks I think. But thanks for your help!
Hi Gabe, The easiest thing to do is to copy and paste the low audio tracks so that they are stacked on top of each other on the timeline (doubled, tripled etc.). You can do this as many times as you need, just be sure that they are all in sync! This should give the extra volume that you need.
