But if I do the normal switching (without crossfade), The cuts really seem to stand out,
but if I set say a 1/4 second crossfade when doing switching, then it seems to look good (but adds to render times)
I have read that it is better to use cuts, and crossfades should mainly be used for passage of time.
I was just wondering if I am being overly critical of myself when I do the straight cuts,
because if I watch T.V. shows normally, the cuts are there, but not standing out.
I am doing shooting and editing quite soon, that will require me to shoot, edit and burn a 2 hour concert, to DVD's within about 48 hours, so I am looking to lower my rendering times as much as possible (Source materials are MPG2 from Memory Card Camera, HDD Camera and DVD Camera Disks), and then I render to MPG2 files, I then use Ulead DVD Creator to author the DVD. Then I use DVD shrink to shrink it to a 4GB DVD Image (if it is too big), and then finally burn using Nero to a SATA DVD Writer.
Admittedly my computer is only a single core Intel 2.8Ghz PC, with 1.5GB ram, 1 x 500GB Sata Drive, 1 x 160GB Sata Drive, Add on Graphics card (does not support GPU rendering)
