I'm having trouble with a video that someone tried to help me edit. It turned out choppy. The original footage is not that way. I'm wondering if his computer is too slow to handle the big HD files that I work with on my computer? We logged and transferred the footage in final cut, then transferred the mov files to a sandisk external hard drive. He then put them on his computer and edited with Sony Vegas. The specs for his computer are: Dell N5010, Intel R Core(TM) i3 CPU M350@ 2.27 Ghz
RAM - 4.00 GB (3.80 GB usable) 64-bit Operatiing Systm. Could it be his computer speed?
Here is a link to the video he put together.

Anyone have any ideas about what may have happened? Thanks so much!
Hi Moonunit, it's hard to say where in the process that something went awry. Your friend's computer seems plenty robust to handle the footage. And even if a computer has a hard time playing the footage back while you are watching it, after the video has been compressed and exported, processor speed for playback shouldn't be a problem. I looked at the video and couldn't really see the motion problem. The video does look a bit stretched though. Some things to check would be: frame rate of the Sony Vegas project vs. the FC project vs. the footage, also the Aspect ratio. Next would be the sequence export settings. Check that those are the same as the project footage. Sorry I can't give you a more specific answer, but there are so many variables that without seeing all the settings, it's really hard to tell what went wrong. Good luck! Video looks great.
