I wonder why noone has got back to you, I'm wanting to know the exact same thing, all I've found from hours and hours of research is you need to zoom right in on your subject, then use the focus ring to blur the background, but you're generally only getting a very close up head shot for example.
What I can't seem to do is, get a head and shoulder mid range shot.
Apparently you need to manually adjust the f.stop as low as it can go, stand around 20 feet away, then use the adjust ring to get this, but I can't seem to get it.
Lets experiment on our cameras and collaborate and see what we can achieve!
