Can someone recommend the best software to convert video files from flv to mov and mp4 to mpeg4? I use the firefox plug-in to download, but the conversion function isn't working.

You might want to try the AVS Video Converter: It's pretty extensive in converting between various formats and highly flexible. (However, if you have a interest in converting a video to Flash such as an .SWF or .FLV file it is not a good converter - used Adobe instead).
