Topic : Freelance VJ rates?

How much should we charge for original video content on news websites?
I would be interested in hearing from anyone with experience in this area!

The average rate is $250 per minute (I assume that is per produced minute and not raw). I'd price at a rate higher than $250 so you've got room to negotiate. What you think your time is worth? It takes 2+ hours to get the raw footage. Another 2+ hours to edit and render. So lets say 5+ hours of your life was used to make 2min. So if you take the $250 your making around $50 an hour. For now I'd say take what you can get so you can start making a nice demo reel out of that footage. 4 : Helpful Not Helpful

Was Michael able to answer your question on the group comment bar? It seems to me that it's hard to answer that with a single answer, as I would imagine that different original content has vastly different values, right? Helpful Not Helpful
