Overview
Producer and Writer John L. Simpson would like to invite you to the New York premiere of the award winning Australian film Men’s Group.
John will be in New York to present the film, and host an exclusive Q&A with the audience. Men’s Group delves into the hearts of seven men as they share their unspoken fears and vulnerabilities. This raw, revelatory and uplifting journey shows the essence of masculinity, which is rarely explored on screen.
The success of Men’s Group is a triumph for its unique approach to the filmmaking process. Everything that you see in this film is the first and only take with three cameras covering the action.
The actors were not allowed to see the script, and were required to improvise, based on intense two month character development sessions with Director Michael Joy. The actors first responses were captured in real time while the cameras were rolling, taking them on their own emotional journey.
The result is nothing short of extraordinary and is a-once-in-a-life-time opportunity not to missed by your students.
Men’s Group successful festival run includes Warsaw Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam and Sydney Film Festival and is the winner of the Inside Film Awards for Best Feature Film, Best Actor (Grant Dodwell) and Best Script.
