NYVS emphasis on storytelling is the arguable core of video making. And I continue to re-focus there (sounds pretty Zen-ish as I write this) after nearly two years' membership. Over time the little parcels of knowledge from you folks have firmly lodged among the many mental beads and trinkets I cart around pursuing this passion. Your patient comments continue to resonate. Mainly. Sincerest thanks. And a further comment on comments. If you have your own contributions --videos you've made and put out there for your peers to see--please, you are welcome to rate and comment on my work (desirable credibility and humility comes with personal experience). A corollary now: star-ratings without individual, helpful comments are trivial. Worthless. It's been a fun couple of years. Mainly. At the end of December 2012 I'm on my own, however, miffed at the general lack of passion that's fallen upon so many NYVS members. Which lethargy, unhappily, mirrors the observed emotional uninvolvement of the staff of late. Yeah, there are other more profitable video-journalism-marketing fish to fry, but it is still sad to watch a good thing waste away.
