You have a really nice story here Angela but your biggest problem is the audio. First you need to re-mix your video as the voice-over and soundbites are fighting the music. You need to being the music down more when you are talking or someone else is speaking. The built in mic in your Mac is not good enough for professional recording only for what we call "scratch" narration. I recommend you look into buying a mic that plugs into your computer. They run the spectrum in terms of price. Also the audio of your subjects does not sound good. The other main issue you have here is story structure. Remember when you came to the training course we said you must start with your best shot? You don't do that here. Your story is about the children but you start with a wide shot of the hotel which is not at all compelling. Also I need characters. You have a fantastic story about a brilliant pianist who's only 8 years old but that's not the story you tell me. Perhaps try re-editing this one?

Thank you Lisa for your comments. You are absolutely right about starting with the hotel being not the best shot. I will create another rendition of the documentary. As for sound, I also agree the best ground sound is a bit overwhelming. I will reduce the volume of the background sounds. As for the voice over - do you have any recommendations for a microphone to buy? Thanks once again to your feedback! Angela

Hi Alyssa, Thanks for your feedback. I recorded the voice over just from the built in microphone in my iMac. However, I must admit that I did a few things to boost up the voice a bit. I normalized the voice over. Maybe that is why it sounds a little overly loud?

How did you record the voiceover? It's a little boom-y. You might want to consider re-recording because the rest of the facility is so professional-looking.
