Bad Management , bad strategy and bad government is the reason why this great industry has been humbled , what the video demonstrates is just how great and important this industry was to your country , get buying American and demand the quality of product you desire. Im from the UK , but am appalled by some of these comments.

It's good that the video evokes strong emotions. Great subject. I feel for those Americans out of job, I'm in a constant state of worry that will happen to me. When speaking of the auto industry I pointed out several amazing looking American cars, Challenger, Camaro and the Mustang. The Corvette is one you feature in this video. Today's great American cars are priced WAY out of the range of the average American, even out of the range of upper middle class Americans.

If your family did not have a job now I suspect you would possibly have a different thought on this.

MacMacDevitt, I agree in part, it really isn't enough to ask/tell people to buy American, but I do believe US auto companies have improved a great deal in the past few years, while Toyota is falling behind, Suzuki is still not a real car manufacturer and Honda just doesn't seem to have exciting models. I'm all about the Mustang these days, but a Camero or Challenger would suit me fine too.
Hammy - There is a lot more to this story. I got my first cars in the 60's and do feel nostalgic for the American cars I drove. But let's face it. We got beat by the Japanese. They made better cars. They paid attention to quality. I drive foreign cars now because they have been more reliable and better built than what Detroit was offering. It is not enough to ask people to Buy American just to keep jobs here. The product needs to be a better product. Just my 2 cents.
