About this video

A video for the website of artist/art teacher Kadira Jennings on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia. I wanted to show prospective students some of her own creative process while introducing them to her philosophy on becoming an artist. Would appreciate any comments: the good, the bad and the ugly :)

Simply breathtaking! Perfect choice of music. Loved the visuals and ,in particular, the extreme closeups. Nice idea to use the text on the left side of the screen. I think you could even make the text slightly larger, and adding a drop shadow would help in reading it. at about 1:07, the music is competing with what Kadira is saying, so that could be mixed down lower. It would be more powerful for you to let Kadira finish speaking at the end, and then bring up the Martha Graham quote with just music. It's hard to read while someone is speaking! Absolutely loved this!

Great Job. Thought the music and the pacing were excellent, and you got some really great material from her, too. I agree that the Martha Graham quote should come up after she's stopped speaking. Helpful Not Helpful

I don't use the mic from the 7D because the quality is terrible. I have a digital recorder - a Zoom H4n. I can move it close to the subject and get good quality sound, but then I have to sync the sound in premier pro. There is a mic called a Rode VideoMic which fits onto the camera which is good quality too - which gets around the poor sound quality issue of DSLRs. Helpful Not Helpful

As an outsider, I didn't think she was too intense. I think this just makes her look like a great artist. Also, you used a 7D, right? Did you run the sound through it? I would really like to get a Cannon because it shoots such beautiful footage but I'm worried about the sound quality. I have an HMC150 and the sound is awesome but I can't get much depth of field.
