About this video

This is my 1st assignment; 7 events, 5 shots. This is the raw footage. Michael was right. It moves so fast at first it's hard to get all the shots. I missed a lot. I was trying to resist the temptation to direct

For your first assignment Adam this is pretty good and you can see the key to success is not to move the camera. A couple of pointers before you do your next shoot: First remember you don't have to be physically behind the camera all the time. You have a lot of profile shots of your subject but if you hold the camera out with the flip out screen turned around then you could have got the face shots you needed. Secondly before you film someone tell them what you want them to do so in this case you would say to Dana "I'm just going to film you doing what you'd normally do, pretend I'm not here but when I ask you a question I want you to look at me (so therefore into the camera). It looks very odd when you ask a question and your subject carries on looking straight ahead. Maybe next time film someone you don't know as you will find the process easier.
