About this video

This is the first dynamic action short film I am creating. Also I have used new camera techniques which I have never used before. I created it with Canon 600D and Nikon D7000. For the VFX I used Adobe After Effects.

This is really excellent work for your very first action film Kiril and you can see a great deal of effort went into it. The effects work really well and really add to the professionalism of the finished video. You have some issues with the shooting location because of the windows and bright light from doorways which gives you exposure issues. The shooting is pretty wide throughout and you do lack a lot of the close-ups. The fight scene is tough because anything with that much movement is always going to be the hardest to capture and you don't have the variety of shots here that you need. Try looking at some of the fight scenes from the movie Matrix and see how they use close-ups of the actor's faces to compress the action. Good luck with your next project!

The muzzle flashes are not difficult to create, but the bullet hit effects are a bit difficult if they should be used with "a hole in the wall" effect. But I used them without "hole in the wall" - only the smoke coming out from the wall/floor. This is not difficult. Only the timing and the color correction were applied. I used Adobe After Effects to achieve those. They are not perfect, but I will improve them in my next action short film. :) Helpful Not Helpful

Is it difficult to create bullet vfx like these? Helpful Not Helpful

Thanks a lot hellboy :) I am glad to see you've liked it. I think you are right for the close-ups you mention - for example fist hitting a face. But because I am directing fight scene for first time, I wasn't sure if I can match it in the edit later. In the next fight scene I create I will experiment with more close-ups in order to achieve better dynamic in the combat. Helpful Not Helpful

Awesome. Lots of variety of camera shots and everything cuts together really well. Good use of sound fx and whoever did the music did a great job. I think some more extreme close ups, like a cartridge being slammed into the weapon, or a fist hitting a face, would have added some more to the cool factor, but that's just personal preference since I like close ups. 1 : Helpful Not Helpful
