About this video

This is my first video gig. It's a Behind The Scenes for the music video Te Encontrare for local Latin L.A. artist, Ignacio Val. This being my first time doing a video like this, I was faced with several challenges such as sound, angles and subtitles...this is a bilingual video and it will be shown in Bolivia and LA. Thanks to NYVS for the tutorials! What do you guys think? Constructive criticism welcomed.

Shooting with the RED must have been interesting and could have been highlighted in this video. Helpful Not Helpful

The camera work here is excellent and the basics of the story should be compelling, but they are not. It does not work because while you may understand the 'story' here, having spent so much time with them, the casual viewer has almost no idea of what is going on. What this film needs, desperately, is narration. A narrative that explains what the story is, who the characters and and why we should care. The making of a music video, the behind the scenes, lends a natural arc of story. Concept, planning, execution and final product. But while this film alludes to it, it does not make it crystal clear to the first time viewer. The characters in the film should also be equally compelling, and there should be an inherent arc of story in their lives and the way in which they intersect with the making of the music video. Where is the tension? Will we make it to the shoot on time. Will the LAPD throw us off the site near LAX before we get the shot? Will we get a plane in the shot? Stuff like that - things that propel a story. All of this is missing. Don't be discouraged. You are close. Your shooting is outstanding, as is your editing. What you need here is a story. Tell me one and make me care about it, and you are there. 2 : Helpful Not Helpful

I enjoyed it. I made my first short film last year and I hired someone to film the filming process and very glad I did. 1 : Helpful Not Helpful
