About this video

A short recap I shot and edited for my church covering an annual Thanksgiving banquet we do for our community in the San Francisco Bay Area.  The video was shot with a canon HDSLR with vintage lenses (Helios 44m, Minolta 50mm Prime, Vivitar 70-210) and the Tokina 11-16. The background instrumental music is from coldplay (The scientist).  The mic I used was a Rode Video mic directly into the camera.  It would have been better for me to use a lav for cleaner audio.

I enjoyed it... I gave you very high rankings (and I don't do that easily). I like the lighting and the color grading. The story is good because it is pure and raw. 1 : Helpful Not Helpful

@vacationlifestylemedia: Thanks! The purpose of the video was to recap what was happening throughout the day for our church & for those who donated food. We posted a series of videos every hour on Facebook during Thanksgiving so people could be updated. It was tough to get interviews with recipients of the meal because they were homeless and did not want to be on video. At the park I had to be quick with my shots because people started were not comfortable with the camera out. Helpful Not Helpful

You could generate more impact if you had the actual recipients of the meal stating "best meal ever" rather than volunteers making the statement. This is a heartfelt video, but what is the purpose of it? Helpful Not Helpful

djgregallen, appreciate the feedback. Yes, a lav would have been so much better. The Rode Video Mic is not as good as I thought it would be. Using a zoom h1 with another mic, sounds way better! Helpful Not Helpful
